IT'S NOT ABOUT ME
Grab the mail, walk in the door, shadowed by the setting sun
TV dinner, evening news, another day is done
I feel like I don't have my own identity, it's not about me
Train wreck in my rear view mirror, my eyes are on the road ahead,
Can't help thinking it's so strange, seconds sooner I'd be dead
Is it random chance or destiny? It's not about me
Feel like I'm rarely understood, doing what I think I should
A common man for the common good, if I knew what to do I would
I'm not sure what's driving me, coincidence or necessity
But if I ask you might agree, it's not about me
Who knows what tomorrow holds, it's not up to me
And I'm not sure I have a voice in this democracy
I guess I shouldn't take the world so personally, it's not about me
It's not for me to understand
I'm not the leader of the band
I'm just another grain of sand
That God is holding in His hand
